IPwebcam information
System Requirements

All remote observation systems, whether for security, single web cam or remote observation, require a Broadband connection such as ADSL or better. The Internet connection requires a fixed IP address in order to allow cameras to be viewed remotely. Hardware can be connected to existing PC networks (LANs) providing the network protocols have fixed IP. A router, if not already installed, will be required on the Broadband connection to allow external routing to the cameras or video servers.

Limited viewing is normally available through internet browsers such as Internet Explorer and Netscape, however, Camera control and system set up may require additional software to be installed. Larger network systems with third party Firewalls may have to be adjusted to allow images to be viewed or monitored. This may require liaison and collaboration with the IT support team.

Installation Costs

Installation costs include installation, commissioning and the supply of all hardware to enable a working system to be commissioned. Our costs do not include liaison with external or internal contractors including IT support teams and internet providers such as BT or Tiscali. We do however, have a fixed cost as required to liaise with contractors if it is required by the client.

Cameras installed for marketing purposes will be provided with one free web page on camcomsolutions or Classic Security server which would include the client's name, address and brief text as required. The images can then be linked to the client's existing site either by a web link or image capture. Other chargeable services include video archiving and embedded video imaging for web pages. This affects the band width of websites and it is recommended that a separate account is set up with the client's existing ISP or Classic Security to enable maximum band width to be utilised. This also removes any band width issues with existing websites or ISP servers.

Installation of the camera equipment and hardware is normally available 5-7 days from receipt of purchase order. Systems requiring new ADSL and telephone lines should allow a minimum of 30-40 days in order to guarantee connection. This assumes that there is no existing telephone line on site. ADSL activation normally takes approximately 10 days. Classic Security cannot be held responsible for delays in order applications.
